Madness - Madhattan Mayor X Robert Deniro

What It Sound Like?

Money is the motivation. They hang it from a string in front of you. When you need it the most nobody's around. When you have it, people with money spend with you. That's not the tip of the iceberg, Madhattan Mayor goes further into detail. He pours his experiences out to some story telling keys by Robert Deniro.

The cold background deepens the expression of the content from the artist. The details get graphic, some readers may have been in similar situations. The street route taught Madhattan lessons, and he capitalized. As noted, his focus is the music. This year he looks to see more results for his work. With his tunes on popular DJ mixes, he's starting off right, to say the least. You will also notice beats Deniro made on those mixes.

This is another ill connection he made with Rob, their able to feed off each other naturally. This is only a sample. They locked in for for five joints on the San Gennaro EP. You're listening to this, you better check out the project. For the collectors, physicals are also available at Bandcamp.
I'm grateful with the level of artists that confide in my writings. Grateful for the gift and all that enjoy it. Praise Yahweh!

Koronoa Kickback - Enonomous

What It Sound Like?

I just got some news I'm having trouble digesting. Sure, by now you have also heard about it. I wasn't gonna start out like this, but I can't ignore the passing of Nipsey Hussle. Before I introduce this new artist, I want to biggup the existence, plus achievements. His music helped me in some low times and during celebration. Anyone who rides in the V with me knows that. Godspeed, may his message be received.

This tune to is a feel good vibe. Something to bring us up in spirit. Say peace to Enonomous, he brought us some Queens cookout music. He's got a 90's party track on his hands. This cool wave was produced by Dalton Odom Beats. The artist takes us through a regular day in the Q-Boro. This is smooth enough for radio play, and he manages to sneak witty lines in his music.

The Hollis kid shows some organic visuals of action with the team. I like to mix up my musical intake. This is dope to see young artists make vids like this. If you noticed the opening, his album art is a vinyl. So, he pays homage to the ones that pushed the culture.

Pull up on YouTube and subscribe.  Let him know your reactions. Thank you for letting me know how you feel about RAN. I continue to pray for my peers. May the Lord comfort the family of Ermias Asghedom!

Surfboard Assassins - Cocareef X Wavy Da Ghawd

What If Sound Like?

All the readers know, it's no training wheels around here or no nursery rhymes. What I'm about to present to you, is almost unfair. A roster of mic mercenaries. All gathered by the ideal hustler in this  era, Cocareef. Like minds attract, so every contributing artist is carrying Hip Hop on their back. His last album was a success, SA produced by Wavy Da Ghawd is already generating revenue.

Here's a producer who's heart speaks through the music. Long time periods on the road away from his little daughter. Transfers the pain transfers into audio creations, remaining as therapy for the time apart. I like the direction of his ranging sound for this project. he keeps getting better. Sedizzy joins Reef for the first track, The Lizard King . It's a street meeting of the minds. You get your flash of the game, but they flood you with brain food  along the way. Keep the slick raps coming. Lava Waves gets deep with lyrical,  Chava Style. You could get lifted off the background. The emcees zone out on this air walking beat. Gotta roll up to this one.

Cocareef went around the corner and scooped up Lupus Dei For Men In Grey Suits. His verse is classy as the sample. I could easily see where he was coming from. Following, Deuce Hennessy is right in his lane of one - on - verses. You could picture who he's talking to. Seven had me thinking about a relationship on the last clip, and I'm not in one. What I am in, is this next joint with General Back Pain.Wait till you hear this beat... All of us are vets, though it was recorded separately. Since we live in different states. So, I'm just getting to hear the other verses and hook. It's no need to question did these brothers are Making The Drop!

Killy Shoot steps in for the metaphoric gun talk.
There was point earlier I thought I heard Cocareef singing, I'm convinced now. That's him backing the hook. Besides the clever verbals, the artists used their executive production skills, as well. You'll notice how ill they utilized one another as a team in Pit Dog Barrel.
One of  the early releases, 'Lyrical LayBack' Back hosts Vinny Vindetta. He's taking out the rivals with knowledge. Reef spits fire verses throughout the album, the comfort level on this song has to be my favorite. He's enjoying deading opposers.

Clean Waves is dark and gritty. This smoker is set off by Enox. He spits that go getter flow, bag motivated. HomeTeam point guard, Deuce Hennessy dropped back in for another body. The closer is a tune we touched on a couple weeks ago. Whata Mess raspy voice wakes you up, he has made himself unmistakable with . General Back Pain also doubled up to lay one more down. Coca defines Loyalty in all his efforts. He will step with his best foot forward in all occasions.

I dig his ability to bounce energy off different artists. It flows natural, no effort was wasted. Leading collaboration can be done by any one. To lead it effectively takes a certain level of character. It's not just the music. Look at the artwork and merch.  Biggups to Reef for bringing the vision together. Thank you for letting me wet the track up. These are my kind of emcees. Pick up your copy at your favorite platform. Thanks to everybody up with us. Jah Bless!

The FITH Laboratory - Norm Regular X Fith

What It Sound Like?
Here's another one that's been burning a hole in my audio bank. I'm glad I  get to write about talented, hard workers. You should recognize both qualitues in Norm Regular. Despite the name, there's nothing normal or regular about this flow. Which is what draws me. He's got such a mature style at his young age. The Baltimore streets could really speed up one's growth process.

Norm takes piece of the action with an EP produced by Fith. Interesting how Full Metal Alchemist was chosen for vocal drops. They used rare elements to make bangers out of this three pack. These tracks are refreshing. No one else is rockin this style. The first tune metaphorically sounds like it's from another dimension. Blend of electronic and Boom Bap while this Golden Era groomed emcee breathes life over it.

Destructions Left Hand, when I hear his voice tone along with projection, I can't ignore the Rakim comparison. Of course, his content and flow are of his own. So don't confuse that statement.  "Mets fitted low smoke blow in my eye, this on the permanent, so niggas don't determine I'm high." The artist gives us piece of his personality, plus his travels. Queens has become another home for Regular. While he makes physical trips, his music also remains in motion reaching a bigger fan base. The knowledge is expressed heavy in Laboratory 5. Without spitting about trafficking or wetting somebody up, this is so hard. He said he rhyme with telekinesis. You could also relate the information to Five Percenters mentioned in the opening.

This album is full of depth. It is a short piece, yet it's complete. You will walk away knowing about the emcee. Also, it opens up that door that makes you look for more Norm Regular. One half of the Korner Boys, repping TFMG. I know Mak P is proud of his brother's efforts. Let's put this on repeat. I have a feeling he's got a project on the way soon, and I anticipate it. Make sure you follow and share this work. Thank everybody for staying up with me. May the Lord keep blessing you!

A Honorable Man Always Faces Death - Dot-Com Intelligence

What It Sound Like?

Here's an artist that knows his worth. Yes, we got another spiritual emcee for you, Dot Com Intelligence. This Maryland (DMV) spitta is a throwback to the Hip Hop enforcers speaking knowledge. Matter of fact, he's so aware of self he produced a good portion of this album, himself. Starting with Definitely, percussive and 60's Soul vocals backing it.

An aggressive flow, type to hurt feelings of the soft rappers. Chiaroscuro
a journey of the artist becoming, produced by Blaqknight. He chops game over the break.  The contents that have him on point, today. So discipline to the craft, he homages M.O.P in his chorus. Original Super Legend provides an instrumental to march to on The Will Of D.  DCI brings that same energy with a shattering hook. The artist is willing to go all out for what he believes in. He ties the connection of the letter starting his name and the word, death. So, believe he's got a lot of living to do, and that's not mediocre.

The next tune welcomes an appearance by London Boii. Here, the rhymers show and prove on the tune, Kings. A boom bap piece layed by Le Daltonien, one of our friends at RAN. Dot goes back to work on the keys during Annihilate-Articulate. This joint he slays the mic and evil forces. Metaphorically brings death to the opposition. Our homie Chuck Chan whipped up this background. I thought those slaps sounded familiar.

This is a man far from denial, life and death are constant topics. If I Die Tonight is a tune about accomplishments and shortcomings. Whether or not the job has been completed. Realizing there a people alive and just living. He mentions rebirth, aware being able to make your destiny. This one is heavily spiritual speaking of the physical and the dimensional. The lo-fi sound is from illien Rosewell, a smoker's choice. Next two are produced by Dot, one has a feature from the bubbling, Jamil Honesty. They join forces on Abide, but they set their own rules. Not willing to conform.

Silence Or Be Silenced is an anthem. This is a motivational joint If ever in doubt, if ever feel the odds are against you. You gotta protect yourself, and if you want something you gotta go get it. That's what I get from this message. The self-titled banger carries us out with the loop killer, Won87. It leaves a statement. "It gets bloody as a menstrual I refuse to be in a minstrel" mentioned in verse one. He then, plays on dancing again in verse two, "I do a freedom, death dance for my ancestors"
This is an empowering LP, on several fronts.

For emcees, for spirituality, for minorities, etc. Stop by your favorite major platform to pick this up. Add to your playlists. Be sure to follow for upcoming music and all related. Thank you for supporting, Jah bless!

RTR Freestyle - Jamal Gasol

What It Sound Like?

This artist makes me feel like a scout that told you about a future NBA star. I never want to mislead the public about the featured artists' success. They achieved them through their efforts. I have been fortunate to contribute to the movement as a vessel. Jamal Gasol and I linked on mutual respect. Since, we've seen him go from the back blocks to Shade45 and ThisIs50. Can't wait for that Jack Thriller interview!

A lot is going on for the Diadora Don. He grabbed another hot one from Sadhugold. The sounds are so harmonic. A slow tempo, sort of a signature selection of  beats for Jamal. Never leaves the streets unfed. He dropped off this deadly one - verser, corner store flow. I'm really enjoying the artistry he is tapping into. The rhymes have been dope, I have noticed growth over the years. Currently, he sounds even sharper.
The Cruiser Weight champ sits down on his punches! "Mask with the strap in the back, Rip Hamilton." Soon to move up another weight class.

You better go listen to this at SoundCloud. Cost nothing to pay attention. Do remember, you can catch Mr 31 live in San Diego 3/30/2019. He's rockin an event put on by
Daniel Leviathan and Eto. If you're in the area, go enjoy the show. People have been spreading the word about RAN, thank you. More to come. Jah bless!

The Get Back - John Creasy X Killy Shoot X Robert Dinero

What It Sound Like?

I see you 're still up with me. I ain't empty handed, neither. This one is from three brothers I became cool with from the energy of this music. There tagged in nuff RAN posts. Once, on the same album. Now, we get John Creasy, Killy, Shoot, and Robert Dinero working on the same track.

The emcees go over rainy days that poured before the beach weather. This is so based on a true story. Each member of this trio recently has been seeing greater achievements in their craft. Working with influential artists, plus radio appearances for huge stations. Their music is playing in higher volume. What I also respect, they're still grinding.

This track has a jazzy piano that keeps playing in your head. Such light notes for a tune this hard. Gotta love that Boom Bap! These verses not only entertain, they reel you in with situations you found yourself in before. Though, we're in the gritty era, you still gotta have fun doing this. I could tell its been a pleasurable experience through the music. Another element of tunes sounding and feeling good.

This is something to ride to, along with the remainder of the new album, EXODUS. Solely produced by Rob and penned by John. This is a Bandcamp pick up, keep supporting. I appreciate all of you rockin with me, as well. Blessings from Yashua!

If Cocaine Could Talk 5 - RJ Payne

What It Sound Like?

We gon write all night to that audio white all night. The new edition is here and it got the vouch from Bell Biv Devoe. RJ Payne ain't playing wit em. Number 5 is in the store in demand like some Jordans. The intro got bars, he couldn't wait to deliver the work, 88 Keys. Stan Da Man is well casted in this series. Some classic soul for you in Brick By Brick. We get some fly talk, no room for a hook.

The Cookup has a rare feature by Daniel Son. Another name climbing the charts. They spit to the horns and light snares by JK1 The Supanova. Two verses of smoke from artists moving and shaking. No ego, no politics. Audio Addiction is something we could all relate to. He really exploits the imagery f lyrics being elicit. The bass end of the piano comes in so mean. Shouts to Vettrax for this energy. Payne drops jewels on em. Speaking truthfully of his independent blueprint.

We know steel sharpens steel, so features have to be a certain caliber, right?  He's got it covered, David Bars drops through for a fire sixteen. RJ has a crazy flow pattern following. All done over the lively sounds of Chukk James. If he's not cooking these tracks, he's cooking gourmet.

First Donz created a monster from a twisted, happy melody. The track comes through so triumphant. Peep how RJ utilizes DITC names to pant his picture. The creativity level keeps raising. So does his stock. El Chapo Stamp is the fitting title for a rapper that give it up like this. Feared and respected at once. Rushmore hammered out a heavy metal sample, has that good feeling of when I used to buy instrumentals.

The bars on Legal Drug Money got the radars going up. If you haven't already, it's time for you to bring his name up in the same breath as legends. He's not waiting on it. "Niggas swear they better than Mayweather till they in front of him." Ain't that the truth...?   That beat was by a producer we have to look out for, Tee Got Hitz

One more feature is a verse from Rochester emcee,  Rigz. They head tap this melodic heater.  It has a retro Mobb feel, though it was whipped up by Snowgoons. They made a huge move from overseas, attracting the western ear. We got another joint from Reese Tanaka to bring it all to a close. Griselda Blanco is a song of straight spittin! Simple track with a lot of room for lines, and RJ let's them spill. Everyone finishes their albums different. This reminds me of the ones I grew up listening to, making them remember that final tune and look forward to the new project.
Get yours at the home site for RJ Payne. Thank you and God bless!

Episodes - VRN Hayes

What It Sound Like?

Plenty action this weekend. Let's keep rolling We got artists to tell the web about. Tapping back in with an exclusive, VRN Hayes is dealing with a select crowd. Adjustments made after dealing with personal issues. Recovering from surgery, battling depression, wondering if he'd ever be able to use his vocals to rap again. I'm glad he didn't give up.

Since, this emcee has been completing and presenting total smokers. Locking in for a whole block keyed by Clark Makes Hits. The tracks selected are a catalyst for the emotional ride. Episodes opens the confessional about anxiety symptoms. Something VRN has been verbal about, publicly. More the reason to be called a real rapper. As much as I wanna feel my bro's pain, the music is too good to stay low. Anxiety bangs and he  bodies the flow. That is the great escape in the music.

Aware is that Hot 97, and The Beat LA from back in the day. When you made a chic song and they all felt it was about them. I could hear any hit R&B female singer on this hook, too. This next one is bout to be my call tone. Yea, I still hear those when I ring people. FWM with the sub phrase, anitisocial-introvert. If you peep the wordplay, he alienates himself without your assistance. I can't help but to think of a parallel universe version of Lil Uzi Vert when he says Lil Introvert. This version is dope against a society of weirdos.

The Deep End  is that point before you accept what you're going through. Things start spiraling all over the place. Medicine, advice, work, household, you m\name it. He was at a point where it felt uncontrollable. Sometimes you enjoy what it makes you. Maybe a little too much. That pressure is what makes and breaks. Seems rap is the ultimate therapy for a talented person with emotional or mental conditions. Once realizing Hayes still was standing strong, he could recognize his blessings. Everyday is high positive vibes. He has a caribbean background closing the EP on an upbeat. The artist is comfortable outside his comfort zone.

Another successful project for the solo artist. It's more than rap, it's motivation and shelter for others in the same boat. This piece will be released soon. I'm grateful to be a part of the preview. Thanks to our fans supporting across the board. Blessings from the Lord.

Say King: The Album - King Merlino

What It Sound Like?

Picking up from that rappitizer, Hope Music for this LP. The video gave you an idea of how down to Earth, King Merlino is with goals in the sky. I'm telling you early. You gotta keep this in mind for all of your award nominations. New sound with a retro album comfort.

Treys makes me feel like I know everybody in his Hip Hop form of a yearbook. Memory lane tracks bring out the best in lyricists, begins a staircase pattern building pace. The mood swings in Brown Faces. The topic less talked about, often swept under the rug. Attacking the double standard and ridicule of colored people protecting ourselves from oppression. Metaphoric title for the degree of the  mistreated.

Black Boy Lost is the aftermath of a nation stripped of its history and deprived essential nutrition. Throw some materialism from high touted figures, easy to lose one's way. A cool interlude of Lino and the youths explaining their problems to him follows. The conduit to the call for us as men to set better examples, Be a Father. He still finds ways to throw slick bars throughout this touchy subject. Grandma's Prayers stays in the family, an auto-biography dedicated to his mother.

The feel good, vibes is in the air with Back to Them Days.
"Remember Party Line? The original Catfish."  That's way back, I remember all the Janet Jacksons on Party Line haha. The next track is crazy, the artist gives it up for those that support. Exceptional from the music, KM bigs me up on Say King Outro. My son  (Toddler A&R) loved it. Thank you for that, you deserve the media coverage. This ride meets its destination with previous single, Like I'm Biggie. Merlino let's the ink spill. Verses for line fiends and dropping some history.

Something that rolls straight through, plus replay value. The beats all vary, never redundant. Each one completes the vivid pictures painted. The only thing else I could ask for on from this piece is a booklet. Hopefully, physicals will be on the way. For now, pick this up at your favorite digital music store. Thank you for staying up with me. Blessings from Yahweh!

MK Ultra - DNTE

What It Sound Like?

Get ready to turn the heat up, high! That's right, gotta stay warm in the cold. Helping us with that, DNTE of FalconCrest. He wants in on this easily influenced population. I ain't mad at him either. People are so quick to OD on trends. The emcee shows us how to capitalize on the moment.

Stepping out with his own production. He leaves us with loopy bells playing on the mind kontrol theme and slapping drums. Precise vocal sample of Supa Cat speaks volume. The slick talk begins. His style is witty and hard body combined. The visuals are just as psychedelic as the track. Pastels, neons,  dim lighting and one performer in the entire video. So you stay focused. Keep Tray Starks in mind for your next shoot, he's got the concepts

Get a dose of some Toronto game, officially. Nothing watered down! DNTE and his team have been lighting it up for their town. His presents  is felt, and Crystal Pianos is on the way. I'm looking forward to it. Wonder if it's all solo, or does he have the team on board. Either way, we need you to got support it when it drops.

Share this out on YouTube, let the artist know how it hit you. All the reactions and requests mean a lot to me. I'm still type new to this side of entertainment. So, I'm glad when its felt by the real ones. Jah bless!

Hope Music - King Merlino

What It Sound Like?

I'm swamped this weekend with audio waves for the All Nighters. So, let's get to our featured artist, King Merlino. It's been a long road, on this album much of it is told. At the moment, we're gonna talk about his single and video, Hope Music. What better time, than now. With more than enough material for doubters out there, inspiration is needed.

Crystal clear visuals shot by Nick Wood capturing organic scenery on a day northern parts dream for. Cool enough day without the snow. Real park attendants making shots, no paid actors with edited swishes. Compliments to the lo-fi production from Cali Large. It's right in the pocket, all parts synced to the tone. Bro, I feel like I'm watching Rap City in 4K.  This that music that make me wanna Arsenio Hall slap people for not knowing about this propelling emcee.

KM shows he's just as dominant on light beats, as the aggressive ones. Substance, versatility, and delivery better than your carrier service. This tune is positive, keep the family around while you bump this in your speakers. He said "Jewish lawyers bring the numbers down like long division."
Stop snoozin, get this artist in your library. Get familiar with his sound. Don't have to complain about lack of real emcees, anymore.

This vibe is dope, a different side of Merlino. I believe this is his first time working with Nick, as well. So, it's a whole new feel. Get ready, Say King: The Album is in stores and I'm writing about it. Thanks for the read and feedback. I pray for your prosperity!

Mr Cooper At Davidoff

What It Sound Like?

A change of scenery is good, to say the least. I really value time spent with the Coruscation House. Anytime I get the chance to step up to bat for them, I'm there. My brother, Mr Cooper had a listening party at Davidoff Smoke Inn, the coziest cigar lounge in the town of Palm Beach. Actually, my first time taking in the atmosphere of one to this degree. I had the luxury of interviewing Coop at this unforgettable establishment.

The word is out! My Life In Black & White is a hit being received by people of all social classes. The setting was a reflection, that. GlamBoss and Fantasy Photography prepped everything and had things running smoothly. The staff was respectful, plus they chopped it up with us for while. As the crowd thickened, the GlamBoss worked her charm . Their attention was all on her, as she redirected it towards Mr Cooper. His promo happened to be running on the main screen, at the time. The only thing that played through the speakers were the tunes from his new EP.

With everyone listening, the groove was undeniable. Not one still body or request to hear something different. Throughout the night, people complemented the Trap N B creator. It felt good to be live again, no retakes. Just a raw energy feeding off the format. Something of importance about this whole trek we've been on, is the involvement of his wife. He consistently includes her on all the missions, as it should be. We talked about how significant that is in the current marital state, nationally.

The event was a success, the ladies looked at their best. The team enjoyed themselves, the attendance was receptive.

Oh, I can't forget, I met Mr. McCray of the infamous BBQ franchise. Friend and rising recording artist, Nardo also popped out to show support.

I won't hold you, let's get to the media.Thank you to Davidoff Smoke Inn for having us.
Blessings from the Most High!

Time To Kill - K. Burns X Fetty X SmooVth X Vinyl Villain

What It Sound Like?

Back with that heat! No man, machine, or entity could keep the determined down. RAN continues, and so does K. Burns. Another one who won't be slowed down by a situation. The late 90's and early 2G, we used to say "That's gangsta." Burns really defines that term. No, not the way fakes try to exploit the word. I mean literally and slang wise. He respectfully reps the Big B's, plus his music is organically hard. Even when he's making more sensitive joints. On top of that, you play nice and he's humble. Just remember that short fuse, though.

It's not just me that recognizes it. Sway, PF Cuttin, and more big names in our culture have cosigned. Catch him riding this track by Vinyl Villains with fellow Bity Boy, Fetty and, Hempstead hustler, SmooVth. The rhythm is a stampede waiting the arrival of a king. I picture a horn made from ivory tusks, and steel drums. Now,  the lyrical homicide is set. Fetty controls the hook like Roy Jones Jr in his prime. SmooVth gives that verse you could touch. Everything solid about him, you could almost see what he's saying.

My boy K is completely focused, one of the most successful in this underground circuit. This smoke that he spit on this tune is one of many getting his name and physical in different in parts of the world. What yah know bout Bobby Seale?  See, Uncle Burnie educating the listeners. There's so much to gain from his music, so you want to check out Infamous Villains.

Here is an artist with the answer. His records sell out rapidly, has dope merch at all his shows that also goes. Plus, he's constantly booking and puffin right.  Make sure you catch him when he passes through your town. Be on the look out for a stoner special next month, as well. Thanks to all the supporters for your feedback. Jah bless all!

Irreplaceble - Borvoe McMidnite

What It Sound Like?

This classy vibe makes me wanna grab an actual typewriter. More smoke for the squad! Borvoe Mcmidnite dropped this one off shortly after I heard it on YouTube. So, that's interesting, because I was starting to vision a write-up.

The connection with Î”MofNRP is good reason. I get the vibe, they've been working together for a long time. The production sounds like a live band in the groove. When I listen to Borvoe, I say, "They not spittin like this." There is so much rap athletics going on in these verses. Hard enough for the streets and diverse content for the bar heads.

Irreplaceable is a statement in the true essence of Hip Hop. Definitely a rapper's rap song. The MC of the Night is is heavy on his grind. His buzz is growing, as deserved. Plus, the whole nite (night) theme is compatible to our site. I also like how his raps are not loaded with cursing. In fact, this tune has none. "Might buck 50 your crew neck Don't let a shell ring, until he sing, ooh a duet."

Gotta dig those lines. You can find this joint on YouTube at no cost. Her does have work in the stores for you to support. I'm grateful for the support you've been showing RAN. Blessing from the Most High!

Swag Killa - 00Despo & VA Grinch X Sean Price X Dreadz

What It Sound Like?

Already know the welterweight match is coming up this weekend. So, I got some rumble tunes for you. In case you feel like beating somebody up. Diamond Dialect got the ultimate mascot for you. They teamed up with Hip Hop's gift, Sean Priceto obliterate the misused jargon. We're talking the other end of the spectrum from Far Rock star, Stack Bundles, when you involve swag and rap together.

This Virginia based group consists of OODespo & VA Grinch. They have their own in house producers. Despo whipped up this furious track, himself. I'm addicted to these drums! Dreadz is the vocalist going crazy on the unapologetic hook. No skin tights and man-purses aloud music. C'mon readers, show your love. Tall Sean did a joint with these brothers. He only spit with emcees he respected, these bars demand it.

I feel the tune does a stand up job at defending our purpose in Hip Hop. It's been misrepresented more every year. The energy is crazy, nothing laxed. The state of the game has been too comfy with the unacceptable. Due time for a good shake up.
