Kane & Lynch - K.Burns x Mak P

What It Sound Like?

It's crunch time, my people. Tomorrow is a special day for a special event. I won't be in NYC, though I would like to. Anybody in the area will surely want to witness, in person. Live at Shirley's Lounge, the Kane & Lynch release party kicks off.

K.Burns and Mak P present the year ending album themed by dynamic duos. Some fully seasoned producers waved their paint brushes in this piece of art. I chopped it up with Uncle Burnie, powerful convos btw. He told me, on each title the rappers take on roles of the names provided. I'll give away the first one, the rest you're gonna have to figure out by ear. In Automatic or Revolver, Mak plays the rapid fire, Burns is the more reserved ratchet holding the shells. This Eddie Word track lets the world know, their aiming for the head.

Next, we get to the first single released. Ecto puts his touch to Kahwi & PG. This is the multi-faceted music and business franchise. Staking claim as the unstoppable force, not leaving out the supporting cast. Tapping in one of the most monumental movies to shine light on what molded urban NYC. Wolfe & Sonny relives Sonny Carson, a presonal one for me. Don Carrera lays the spooky background. Burns makes the right reference, "My life is a movie." The team is living proof.

The ratchet is passed to Mak over the Damn!Dave piece during Pistolero's. That get to the bag music. The joint to put on repeat when you taking them trips. Magik & Bird reminds the listener of the friendly competition between these emcees. Actually, they're reminding one another on this Slumcheevers beat. This tune also welcomes opposers to step up.

The Standouts open with the keys for Spyke N Hype. This is the fraud decoder, our boys don't relate to the pretenders. The reality of tough talkers never seem to match when they're around Mak & Burns. That soulful vibe is in effect as you listen to Sub Zero vs Scorpion. They trade picture painting  bars over a track from The Prxspect. This one is a jewel dropper, stay alert.

Our last song seems like a cliffhanger to me. The energy gets more aggressive, makes you want it to keep going. StainlessART brings the suspenseful sound, goes along with its theatrical theme,
Dog Days
"I don't need a map to go farther than other artists." - Mak P
Yea, and lines like that one.

Eight reasons for to go the show tomorrow night. These two are original, they compliment the syles of each other. While managing to never step on each other's toes. Oh yea, TeaM Fame will be in the arena It's a full guest list. This album is now streaming, so get your copy.

Game Winner - ThatBlessedGirl X King Coldpack

What It Sound Like?

I still got connections with some of the most talented, rising producers. I've gotten another request from one the other day. In this male dominant realm, it's cool to hear from the ladies. Especially when they've got skill as such.

That Blessed Girl has been on a spree. One of the bangers she lately released is with King Coldpack. Heavy bars over heavy metal is what I hear. That's one of the things I like most about this emcee. He never spits watered down rhymes. He always keeps that edge. Hence the line,
"Put the blade to your throat like Shinobi."

It's been a minute since I covered something from these two. So, I'm glad I got hit with a strong follow up. A nice break from the soft tone beats. A lot of tracks are subtle, neglecting drums. I respect diversity, some tunes sound good like that. The game got caught up in that trend for a long time. So, I appreciate when someone brings sounds of power during this era.

I enjoy seeing people working together from all across the map. The segregation can get ridiculous, taking away from great potential. This combination worked out well. There's some real slick lines on this joint, impressive. You should pop out to Bandcamp and get this one.

Primo JAB & MindFrame - Literature

What It Sound Like?

Approaching the new year, I hear people say 2020 is there's. Big things are going to happen for them. In some way, they mention how their sights are set on the arrival. I want to remind you, this year is not over. Big things can still happen for you in 2019.

Our producer homie, MindFrame got plenty accomplished within 12 months. He's tapped in with a wide range of artists. Tonight, Primo Jab reappears with with some education. This Atlanta, GA emcee takes the narrow path. The lyrical route, ignoring the typical sound currently promoted from his land. What better track to used than this authentic Boom Bap.

Here's a student of the game. Someone with true Hip Hop ingredients. He longs for the day when rappers took lead, not following corny trends. Primo has an aggressive flow, taking success not asking. I like how he put the listeners up on the false promises from the enemy.

I'm usually ready to ride with artists raging against the machine. This scenario is no different. PJ also brings a spiritual presence in his delivery. After hearing this, you're gonna want to hear the album, Killdozer. Available on all major platforms, including Bandcamp, get your copy. Before I close, I want to send some comforting words to MindFrame. Readers pray for him and his family. His father recently passed away. I know that's nothing easy to get over. Stay strong, brother. Peace to everybody staying patient with me. Blessings from the Almighty!

No Matter What my hiphop story - Glue Hefner

What It Sound Like?

Last time out, I told you about a few artists I had on the way.  I don't want to delay any longer. Let's resume where we left off.  Sometimes we make plans with the best intention, that outcome is not guaranteed. Tonight's subject is the prime expression.

Glue Hefner sent me a survival pack, as I headed to a crossroad. I feel this will support our readers, as it did for me. The artist says so much needed to be said in this state of Hip Hop. He delivered it in a far, creative fashion. Fully produced by I Am Will, formerly known as M-Print. Total sound of soul flow from track to track. Starting with Strangers featuring Thnk Void. So in the pocket, he sounded like a sample from a classic. Beginning story of love with a woman called music. Going through titles and musicians that ignited his quest for the art.

All the comfort and comradery during early years of listening to Hip Hop pours through,
Best Friend. Countless hours invested, developing personality. This approach reminds me of
I Used To Love Her by Common. We get to listen to an expanded version. At this point, we join the duo appearance on songstress, KK Love. She presents that smooth, R&B touch.

Details become a little more juicy in First Time.
Those coy moments of writing your first tune, jumping in your first cipher, and those moments visioning your first performance on stage. Glue says,
"How you move my thoughts around, call it cranium renovation."
Dope explanation of the effect o the mind after digesting rap.

I'm Gonna Make It is verbal adrenaline. That moment you take your talent more serious. Against obstacles and doubters, nothing stopping the goals. This project tales the trek of the aspiring artist. My deepest emotional attachment is with, You. Things get bumpy after the honeymoon. This is where efforts start to feel in vain. Safe to say, plenty of us could relate to this joint.

The Call is entertaining, as it is ingenious. Check the flow versatility. Hef plays the role of self, also an 808 rapper. The voice serves as the common commercial vultures poisoning the rap game. It's portrayed as a hostage situation. Though, the machine detours the ride, true emcees won't give up. Always a feeling of being the one that makes a difference for the better in the industry.
So Forth And So On is the reminder. Crazy word play,
"Can't evolve, because you're trapped."

A chronological  explanation of where Hip Hop is and where it came from. I love the metaphoric approach. Making it sound like a relationship with a girlfriend or wife. NMW pays homage to the old school, then keeps you abreast of modern times. I love how he involved his families' musical influences as a door opener. A well put together audio document for anyone with ears.
December 24th it will be released in digital music stores. Get your copy. Thank you for staying up with me. All praises to the Lord of hosts!
